Mrs. Jennifer Sikes

I have been an educator for 21 years in Washington State, Turkey, Mexico, and Kosovo. I earned my undergraduate degree from Western Washington University as well as Master's degrees from Lesley College and the University of New England.  Recently I completed a Washington State Superintendent Certificate.  I have had the opportunity to work as a literacy coach, instructional coach, elementary principal, middle school principal, high school principal and director of learning. I am a mother and grandmother and I greatly enjoy reading, outdoor activities, and above all else, education in any form.

As a school leader, I believe in shared leadership and servant leadership. I want to build efficacy in students and staff by having their voices be instrumental in decision-making. At the same time, I want to serve my students, staff, and families as best I can to make their jobs easier.

I believe my three most important jobs are to make sure everyone is safe, everyone is learning, and everyone is having fun. Oftentimes, I remind students that their three jobs at school are to help me keep our school safe, to learn, and to have fun. 

I am grateful every day to work in a beautiful building, with an amazing and caring staff, and to serve the students and families of Ocean Shores Elementary. This is an absolutely wonderful place to work and learn!
