Ms. Lisa Samson
Hello and welcome! With over 30 years of elementary teaching experience, I am thrilled to be the district's elementary distance learning teacher in the 2021-22 school year. My online third graders and I had fun learning to navigate the world of distance learning! I'm excited to bring what we learned together to my students this year!
I currently call Ocean Shores my home, however, I grew up in the Spokane area. Since I have always enjoyed working with children, I chose to be a teacher. Upon earning my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, I moved to this wetter side of the state where I have worked in private as well as public school environments.
In my off-time, I spend time in our garden, poking around antique stores, and reading good books. I also enjoy traveling, biking, watching our local birds and wildlife, and walking on the beach.
I greatly enjoy teaching and building relationships with my students and their families. This is what I most enjoy about teaching, though my favorite subject to teach is probably Math. Social Studies is a close second as I love to share the wider world to my students and expand the boundaries of their knowledge.
